Dumb Luck

I was happily wrapping up my last gifts for the Secret Pal exchange last night when I had a funny feeling. I was tying the ribbon around the pattern book I had picked out for my girl when I thought I remembered her posting something about a Rowan pattern book as one of her very first posts on her blog. I thought, before I seal this up, I better double check that its not the same thing. Yeah, you know where I am going with this. What the heck? There was a series of 6 books with children's patterns and I picked up the exact same one she already had! What am I supposed to do now? I am leaving for vacation soon and there is no way I have time to make it anywhere but Michaels before I go. Plus, I am tapped out creatively on this thing. I hate sending just stuff, so I need some help getting ideas on what to do to fill out this black hole - the pattern book was supposed to be the "big" present this time around. So far my box includes some navy cotton yarn I picked up at my LYS and some Bath & Body Works goodies. Any suggestions?

Well, you could always send the package as is and get online before you go off to vacation and buy a good knitting book from amazon or elsewhere. That takes care of you having to get out to buy something at Michael's or anywhere else, not to mention the whole post office/packaging/shipping issue.

Still so jealous about your vacation plans. That's a place on my long list of places I'd like to see.
