FO: Oscar

Yes, you read that correctly. Oscar, the longest WIP ever in the history of the world, is an FO with a capital F. As in Finally Freaking Finished! And I love him so.

Oscar
pattern: Tangled Yoke Cardigan by Eunny Jang (Ravlink)
yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed in 155 (Pickle)
needles: US5

You may be aware that I started knitting this sweater about a hundred years ago. Okay, roughly 2 1/2 years ago. Either way, it's been a ridiculously long time. So I hope you'll forgive this brief post, but it's been such a long journey and I'm tired! It's worth noting the obvious- that there's no good reason why it should take any normal person this long to knit this sweater. I just clearly have issues. I would get all excited about knitting it during the fall and winter months, but would then get side-tracked by other projects, babies, etc. ;) Naturally, I wish I'd finished this sooner, but the most important thing is that its finished now!

I always envisioned this to be a comfy, throw on over anything, not-confining-in-any-way sweater, which is why I purposely knit the next size up. And while it turned out a tad larger than it could be, I'd much rather it be a little too roomy than a little too tight, so I'm happy with it.

I love its crazy green-that-sometimes-looks-yellow color. I really love its tweedy goodness. I especially love the awesome buttons I found that pick up the colors in the tweed so nicely.

Most of all, I love, love, love that this sweater finally out of the WIP basket and on my body!

Congratulations on finally finishing! It's beautiful and looks lovely on you! I've always wanted to make a TY. I have plenty of Silky Wool, but a friend made hers with it and it grew to be huge! Now I'm skeered to try.

It's gorgeous! And you look so content and relaxed :) I know that feeling, having just finished a lingering WIP. Like a weight has been lifted!

I have a felted tweed sweater, and found that it holds up well to machine washing on the gentle cycle - except that it shrinks very slightly.

This was a bad thing for me, since my sweater came out on the small side, but might be beneficial for you if you have the opposite problem.

2.5 years isn't long.. I have a Clapotis on the needles which is much older than your now finished (and gorgeous!) sweater! Congratulations on finishing it!
