Crochet market bag

Well, this is my first attempt at a crochet project. Needing to use a little crochet now and then when knitting prompted me to take a beginning crochet class and my local Michaels. It was a lot of fun and actually resulted in something! The only catch is that its supposed to be one of those reuseable grocery bags, but mine is way to narrow, so it will never live up to its full potential. Also, I have no idea how to put handles on it! I guess I will have to take another class or read into it a bit. One step at a time, I say.

Ooh, I didn't know you did crochet, too. Now I'm jealous. And, I like this bag. Too small? No, just a design detail to make it original. You know, for those trips to the store only to buy ice cream. That, or a little bag for your sunscreen and sunglasses at the beach. Or for a big water bottle for spin class. There are plenty of uses for it, you'll see.

Well, once I get the whole crochet thing down - I would love to make a whole pile of these bags - only bigger ;-) This one so far has only cost ~$2 in Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn. And what can I say, I am a sucker for varigated yarn. To be honest, my first true attempt at crochet resulted in the infamous "ball sack." I had skipped a couple stitches in the base so it would have litterally been a water bottle holder until Brad said - that could be my ball sack! So I made a tie for the top to attach to his cue case and it holds his cue ball perfectly :-)
