Showered (more like a downpour)!

My knitty gals threw me a baby shower this past weekend, and boy was I ever showered- with love, friendship, and lots and lots of crafty goodness! What made this shower all the more special was the fact that, unlike most baby showers that are thrown before the baby is born, Bean was able to join in the fun and meet the ladies!

Okay now, fasten your seat belts- you're in for a parade of seriously awesome crafty goodness coming up here! Starting with...

From MJ - The most amazing quilt and adorable baby booties:

I mean, seriously...just look at it! I love the pattern, the fabrics, the colors, every single thing about it. She couldn't have sewn a more perfect quilt for us.

And the booties. Recognize the pattern? It's the same one I used for Green River- so you know how much it. And you may also recognize the yarn. That's right, it's the same colorway of Koigu that I used to knit my very first pair of socks! I had an extra skein, which I gave to MJ at our yarn swap earlier this year. Who knew she would use it to knit a pair of booties with it for Bean? Makes me love them even more!

From Kat - A fabulously colorful and stripey kimono sweater and equally fabulously colorful and stripey beanie. I love stripes on babies and kids!

From Jillian - This super soft baby bolero and hat set. Seriously, I wish you could touch these. Yum!

From Amiee - A most squooshy sweater...

...and pants! (!) If there's one thing I love more on babies and kids than stripes, it's polka dots!

From Lori - This adorable stuffie and onesies. This stuffie makes me so.very.happy!

From Julia - Two great books and the cutest knitted bird ever!

Bean likes her birdie already! :)

Ladies, I can't thank you enough!

And while I'm on the subject, I want to take this time to share a few other fantabulously hand-crafted baby gifts that we received. Well, you've already seen the most awesome collection of crafty baby goodies that Dis made for Bean, but it's certainly worth revisiting!

Now check out this redonkulously cute beanie crocheted by Marnie:

and this amazing sweater from Karen:

I really cannot express how touched I am that my friends would take the time to make gifts for Bean. I am overwhelmed by the generosity and thoughtfulness, and I'm so very appreciative. We are so lucky to have friends like you in our lives. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

PS: We also got together this weekend to say goodbye Lori (boo!) and a cowl swap (yay!). So stay tuned for a recap on the rest of the festivities! (How's that for a teaser?) If you want a sneak peek, you may check out Amiee's post. :)

Nothing is as fun as baby knits - so thanks for getting preggers :) Just kidding (a little). I loved that the shower was post-Bean, getting to shower baby and mama together. So much crafty love for the Bean.

Yay! Baby showers are so fun! I just love our crafty showers where everyone comes together to swaddle the new little one in handmade love. I'm always so proud when people see that so many of G's toys and clothes are handmade. It's extra special, just like Lucy.

so many great knits! I agree showers are better after the baby is born.
