Strawberry-Orange-Grape

What am I saying here?
a. "Am I squinting?"
b. "Do you know what you're doing?"
c. "I think you're getting too much of my butt in the shot."
d. all of the above.

So it's not the greatest of FO photos, but it will have to do for now. Photo aside, I am SO HAPPY with the way this sweater turned out! It actually fits perfectly! When have I ever been able to say that before? Never. I love this sweater...in all of it's red-orange-purple splendor!

The pattern is from the Freedom Wool pattern book. Your basic fitted turtleneck. Somewhat convoluted instructions, but my "winging it" technique seems to have served me well, once again. Even when it came to seaming! OMG. Seaming. I felt as if I was performing some kind of surgery (reverse surgery?). The only thing missing was someone to wipe the sweat from my brow. See, I am not the most talented (or experienced) seamer. I've gotten better with practice, but it's certainly not one of my strengths. I had to take breaks in between seaming sessions, so the process ended up taking a while, but when all was said and done, I think I did a good job- if I do say so myself!

Twilley's Freedom Wool - oh, how I love thee! It is so soft and wonderful to work with...I must have more! The colorway was interesting to work with, and at times a challenge. And as you know, I wasn't sure how I'd like this when all the pieces came together. But, I'm happy to report that I really love this thing. I'm so happy about the fit, and how it feels on. It's really soft and warm. All in all, a success, I'd say. :)

Looks great! And take it from someone who has done her fair share of suturing during/after surgeries - mattress stitch is almost exactly like the sutures you use to close skin. The only difference? They use knots in surgery. Lots of knots. (OK, there are other differences, too. Like the fact that yarn is not alive. But those are technicalities.)

Good work! I particularly love the sleeves. I hate seaming too. That's why I'll do almost anything to work a sweater in the round.

I think it turned out great. I know you were uncertain about those colors, but they really do look good on you. I bet you'll wear that thing to death (let's just hope it's a long and happy life).
